Thoughts on God’s Omnipotence

“O Lord our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! Who hast set thy glory above the heavens. When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man, that thou art mindful of him? And the son of man that thou visitest him?” --Psalm 8:1, 3-4 (KJV)

God all powerful, God all wise,
Maker of oceans, creator of skies,
All in order, all in Your plan,
And then the crown of creation, Man.

To mankind dominion you gave,
Earth and its beauty to use and to save;
But alas in greed man has turned aside
And we reap sad benefits of mankind’s pride.

Time to reconsider whence we came,
To exalt God’s omnipotence, claim His name,
Remember His mercies, forget pride and hate,
Own God’s omnipotence before it’s too late.

Restore the wonder of Who God is,
All-powerful, ready to renew even us;
Seek His will and learn His ways,
Turn, turn to Him for the rest of our days.
